The 10" × 54" Black Mineral Tank provides a durable vessel for residential and light-commercial water-softening, filtration, ion-exchange, and specialty media systems. Its widely used 10-inch-diameter, 54-inch configuration provides space for approximately 1.5 cubic feet of compatible treatment media when the system is properly designed with the required freeboard.
A standard 2.5-inch top opening provides an interface for a compatible water-treatment control valve or adapter. The tank can be incorporated into equipment using appropriately matched riser tubes, internal distributors, seals, valves, and plumbing components.
Composite FRP construction provides structural strength and corrosion resistance without the rust concerns associated with conventional metal vessels. The black exterior offers a clean, professional appearance and helps shield the tank’s internal contents from ambient light.
An included support base keeps the vessel stable in its required vertical position. Depending on the system design and water chemistry, the tank may be used with ion-exchange resin, activated carbon, catalytic carbon, calcite, iron-reduction media, and other compatible treatment materials.
The treatment-media quantity, freeboard, service-flow rate, backwash requirement, and control-valve capacity must be calculated for the specific application. Water-softener grain capacity depends on resin volume, resin type, salt dosage, water hardness, iron content, and regeneration programming.
