The LP22-8040 Reverse Osmosis Membrane is a high-capacity, low-pressure membrane element designed for brackish-water desalination and industrial water purification. Its standard 8-inch × 40-inch configuration supports installation in compatible 8040 pressure vessels and multi-element reverse osmosis systems.

Under specified test conditions, the LP22-8040 provides a nominal permeate flow of 10,500 gallons per day (approximately 39.7 cubic meters per day) with a stable salt-rejection rate of 99.7%. Its combination of substantial permeate production and high rejection makes it suitable for industrial systems requiring effective dissolved-solids reduction.

The spiral-wound element provides approximately 400 square feet of active membrane area and uses a 28-mil feed spacer. It is designed for qualifying brackish water, groundwater, surface water and municipal water with higher dissolved-solids concentrations than those normally recommended for ultra-low-pressure membranes.

Proper pretreatment is essential for controlling sediment, hardness, scale, silica, iron, organic fouling and oxidizing chemicals. Feedwater chemistry, recovery, operating pressure and required permeate quality should be evaluated during system design.
